Hello everyone, the big day is approaching fast, maybe some one can help me, I have a P5 matrix, its 4 modules across and 2 modules down, each module is 8 panels, 2 across and 4 down, each module with a colorlight card, in 2022 I used in my light show, it worked, had a bit of issues and was ablee to resolve it with help from the forum, as of today am having issues again, followed the same steps taken last year, but this tome not working, the effects and videos are broken on the screen, using FPP v6.2, dont want to upgrade at this time, with a Pi4 CM4 mounted on a carrier board with dual Ethernet ports, I'll include some pictures of the setup in FPP..thanks...I can run the test pattern and looks good...thanks again...

If the test pattern looks good, then that usually points to a channel issue or data issue (or both).

OUCH Are you really sending DDP Data to your panels? You are sending almost half a million channels across your network and this has been known to cause issues like you are seeing. It is usually recommended to run panels in MultiSync mode.

I think he is transmitting those from the P5 system so that should be turned off.  Is this related to the UDP checkbox in FPP Connect?

By the UDP check box, I set that to none or it should be set to something else??...thank you Captain...
Sorry for replaying this late I work nights...

If you still need help, look for Travis in the Zoom room.
He is down under and normally on all night long.
Dont know of anyone better with Color Light cards....

Yes and the Active Status in xLights, they work hand in hand.

That would depend, but it looks like you are using MultiSync data, in that case, it should be None, but at some point it was set to something else and now it set as an output.
You only want to use one method to send data to a controller or you will see strange results. In this case, it looks like you are sending both MultiSync AND DDP data to your P5 panel...AND your P5 panel is sending data to all of your other controllers as well.
You only want one device sending data to a controller.
You probably had a big red banner on your Status Page telling you something similar???

On the E1.31/DDP outputs page on your Matrix controller, set the output count to 0 and click Set, then uncheck the Enable outputs and then Save and then restart. I have a feeling things will look better.

Thanks Poporacer, I'll try that...

One odd question, can I run a light show with two FPP players, one to drive just the P5 Matrix and the other to drive all the pixel props??...and how to sync them...

That's what Multi-Sync does.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.

Yes, but I doubt that is what you really want to do.

Just to clarify, FPP has 2 modes Player and Remote
A player is a device that will send information to OTHER devices (or just itself) to tell them what to play and when to play it. A Remote is a device that is waiting for instructions to tell it what to do. So it is uncommon to have 2 players, but VERY common to have a player and multiple remotes.

Quote from: LedMutt on December 05, 2023, 01:31:55 PMand how to sync them..
There are 2 basic ways to sync them. You tell the Player what method you want to use, you can use one or the other method and even a combination of the 2.

One is by telling the Player to send sequence data (E1.31/DDP) to the remotes and then tell the remotes that they should be expecting this data.
The other is by telling the Player to send MultiSync data and then the remotes will need a copy of the sequences.

The FPP Manual has all of this explained and it might help?
