LEDs Partially Lighting Up with ESPixelStick and FPP 8.3

Hello,
I'm working on my first Christmas light show. I'm starting small with a Raspberry Pi in master mode and 3 Wemos D1 Mini (ESP8266) running ESPixelStick. I have everything set up, and I recently updated FPP from version 7.5 to version 8.3.

Previously, I configured my channel outputs > DDP with the "FPP START CHANNEL" matching the values indicated by xLights. For example, for my ESPixelStick #2, the start channel was set to 152. However, when I test using "Display Testing" (and I see the same behavior with a sequence), only the LEDs at the end light up.

If I set "FPP START CHANNEL" to 1, in Display Testing mode, all my LEDs light up, but my sequence still doesn't work properly – only the LEDs at the end light up.

Did I misconfigure something?

I am not sure about the esp controllers, but some of the budget controllers are expecting everything to start at channel 1. You might want to try unchecking the Keep Channel Numbers in xLights for each of the esp based controllers and then FPP Connect to update your channel outputs.

Thanks for the advice, I tried it, but it didn't change anything. It seemed like a good lead given the behavior, though.

I made the change, re-uploaded the sequence to FPP, and replayed the sequence.

What does the FPP Outputs page look like now? Post a screenshot

The first output work well. The display of est8266-1-star-face is ok. But other are wrong

I did some further testing. By unchecking 'Keep Channel Numbers' and using xLights as the output, everything works fine. The sequences are played on the correct ESPs. My issue seems to come from my Falcon Pi Player configuration.

Why is ESP1 set to start on FPP channel 2?

I don't know how DDP works but I would think ESP2 would have fpp start channel 152 and esp3 would be similarly the next set of channels (680?).

I suspect the discover button was pressed and it found the FPP Player in discovery and xLights assigned it channel 1. (See above picture)

FPP is not going to be able to send DDP packets directly to the ESPixelstick.  The Wifi is no where near fast enough.  You need to set the secondary input to "FPP Remote" and use multisync.

Thank you for your advice. I tried this configuration (FPP remote), but unfortunately, it doesn't work. I had looked at that tutorial; however, in it, they use ESPixels with an SD card hat to store the sequences, which I don't have.

On the FPP output config, universe size is x3 of pixel count, 3 channels per pixel. I only have one wled with a prop of 212, i set the universe size to x3.

The US reseller for the DigUni/DigQuad that uses the same exact board, suggested they will not support xLights over wifi unless you have the AE+ version with the SD Card.  I am not familiar with them other than have helped a few people.  Sorry... don't have any more suggestions.

Thank you for the ideas and advice. I will use xLights and xLights Scheduler for this year. It works with DDP. I'll try with FPP on my Raspberry Pi next year.
