Hi All, just thought I'd show off my simple creation, so far I've only put up the pixels, the static lights are still sitting in boxes.

FPP on RPi2.
All the pixels are driven via E1.31 using ESP8266's (6 ESP8266's so far) running Shelby Merrick's ESPixelStick firmware http://forkineye.com/espixelstick/.
Gables: 680 total pixels, each gable has 170 WS2812 pixels mounted on aluminium angle which has magnets drilled and tapped then screwed to it to hold them to the metal facia on the gables.
Star: 48 total pixels, 8 strips of 6x WS2812 pixels mounted to a custom acrylic star that I drew in Google Sketchup and had a local acrylic shop laser cut.
Spiral Tree: 336 total pixels, the tree was reasonably cheap at a post christmas sale last year so I removed the LED rope light and attached about 11 meters of WS2812 to it with cable ties.

In total that's 1064 pixels so far, I've got a bunch left over and have cut up 16 strips of 16 pixels, I think you may be able to work out where I'm going with that...

I'm putting together an Imgur album here, I'll add more as things progress.
