Finally wrapped up my pixel sign. This is my first creation ever with smart lights. I plan to use it to sell my house at the moment, but then plan to use it in my future light display which I have yet to create. Through the help of people on here via posts and messages, I was able to finally pull all this together.

Here are some pics and a video of my first attempt at the sign. I was not happy with the resolution (162 total pixels) so I went back to the drawing boards as you will see later.

Here is what I currently am running:

Raspberry Pi 2 with FPP and 7" touchscreen
HolidayCoro AlphaPix 16 (I know this is overkill for this sign)
12mm 12VDC pixel nodes (480 total lights in the sign - 30x16)
HolidayCoro sign frame with Lexan sign

My future plan is to layout the next house to use the equipment I have and possibly more control boards, but I will share more when I cross that road. I am very new to all this, so I have a lot of reading and programming to do.

Here is a short video of my current sign. It is only 3 min to get through the whole playlist. I have a daytime and nighttime version where the daytime is at 75% of full power, and nighttime is at 20% of full power.

Will get some pictures of it up soon.

Thanks again for those that help on here!!

Looks good.  Is the glow around the snowflakes and text due to the color 'bleeding' from one pixel to the next because they are so close together or is that just the camera making it look that way?

That is just my camera. I will see if I can get some pictures of the setup. It looks very sharp with no bleed through to other pixels. Thanks!!

Well here is my final working sign. I used this sign to sell my house, which the realtors thought was pretty creative. Sorry there are not any pictures. I have the sign put away in storage now.

I used 480 pixels and I had to tie the sign down in the yard to make sure the wind, rain and snow would not break the frame.
