F4V2 won't hold network settings

My trusty old bench controller all of a sudden won't hold it's network settings any more.  I have tried to reset it by holding down the boot button and powering it on a few times, but that doesn't help.  Is there anything I can do to salvage it, or do I just need to bite the bullet and get a new controller?
