I have BBB that has been running FPP v3.3.  I was looking to upgrade to FPP v8.0.
I burned the FPP8.0 image file to the micro SD card, inserted the card, powered on and when I connect to the BBB, I still see my v3.3 install.  This is not what I expected as I installed FPP8.0 on two new BBB I acquired recently and they successfully display FPP 8.0 software.
I am not sure of the terminology here but many moons ago, when I installed FPP v3.3 is it possible I could have installed it onto the actual BBB and that is why I continue to get v3.3 when I access the BBB?
If so, is there a way to clear the BBB completely and boot from the SD card now?

Thanks.

Old memory here since I never have used a BBB, but seem to recall that on the BBB you can load FPP into EMMC (may not have that name right) and boot from there. There is a way to tell it to boot from the µSD card, but I don't remember what.  Maybe hold some button in during powerup - not sure.  Check the FPP manual.  I also recall that using the EMMC is not recommended.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.

That usually means that your are booting from the EEMC and NOT the SD card and the bootloader has not been updated.

They fixed the bootloader on the newer BBB do that it works correctly

Yes, that is correct, but it is not the recommended method.

Sort of. You can force it to boot from the SD card and update the bootloader so that it works as it is supposed to by disconnecting power, press and hold the S2 button and apply power. Once the blue lights start flashing, you can release the S2 button.

Thanks for the responses.
I have been away from home and am now back.
I held down S2 and powered on and all I get is the power light to turn on.  Never see the other indicator lights flash.
I unplugged power and the BBB booted into its old state (previous v3.3 install).
I formatted SD card and placed new image of Ver 8 on the SD card, held s2 and applied power, same issue - only power light.
Am I stuck with v3.3 on my BBB?
