Hey everyone, hope this is the right spot for this question. I am from Aus and have a Hanson HE123MK2 controller that I purchased a $15 license for last year that would open 16 ports. This year I am expanding my show so I need to open up the remaining ports. I have purchased a new $15 license but can't work out how to apply it. In FPP I added the new order number and license key into the eeprom signature page but when I hit the sign eeprom button it says it can't connect to the signing website. Is it as simple as me doing it this way or do I need to do other things to apply it? It's been a while since I originally set my controller up so the memory is a bit faded on which steps I took.

I have contacted support but haven't heard yet so thought i'd try here in the meantime.

Cheers
Steve

Would anyone have an idea as to why I can't connect to the internet?
You cannot view this attachment.
It is connected via ethernet cable. Have pinged everything and it is all good. Can connect and reboot the controller from my pc with no problem but it seems that the reason I can't sign the eeprom is due to this issue. Alan Hanson from Hanson Electronics has been helping me all day and we're struggling to work it out. Hopefully someone can give me something to try.

There's lots of stuff that we've tried.
The DNS servers of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 both ping the internet successfully. We also tried changing from the google dns servers to Telstra Victoria servers and no difference. Tried changing the hostname which had a dash in it to removing it- no difference.
It's FPP8.3 and Chrome browser that are being used.
The logo has gone missing from the top right which is potentially/probably due to the FPP not believing it's connected to the net. The temperature has changed to 0C rather than the 30C or whatever it really should be.
Steve didn't have a spare SD card to swap in with FPP8.4 on it to try. I can't recall if he had a failed test checking for updates.

This is broken - I tried to create a ticket to have them fix it but they say it is fixed in 9.0 . So for now it will always say it is broken. It is failing to ping a very specific ip for example.com which is no longer valid and hence the check fails.

Can you post a screenshot of your Networking page? Both interfaces. (A screenshot and not a picture of your screen)
Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by both interfaces. Here is my network screen.

It would be a little unusual to have a 192.168.0.x network. Is this a show network or is this your home network? If you change to DHCP, what address do you get?

The IP address is the controller address. I clicked DHCP and everything in the interface settings disappeared.

That is actually a VERY common network

It was just in case you had a Wi-Fi network connection. When you ping 192.168.0.1 does it come back successful?
If so, set one of your DNS servers to 192.168.0.1

We have seen quite a few networks recently that have been blocking outgoing traffic either through a firewall or other process. I would jump in the Zoom Room, that is the best and quickest way to get help.

Yes it does.

I just changed DNS server 1 to 192.168.0.1 and added my order number and license key but the same issue occurred where it couldn't connect to the signing website. I only updated FPP this morning so it seems to be connected to the internet but for some reason it looks like the Falcon signing page has an issue.
