General Hardware / Need Help on LEDvision, Colorl...

I need some help. I'm building a 4W by 6H P5 matrix running a Colorlight listener card.
I have used LED Vision 8.5 software to set up the matrix. Unfortunately, all I can get is Panel 1-1 working correctly. Cannot get the rest to work correctly. Panel 1-1 is perfect, panels 5-3 and 6-3 display squiggly multicolored lines.
I feel certain it is a simple fix, but can't seem to get it right. Started with a default definition from Wally's lights where I bought the panels. But that didn't work. Intelligent configuration is completely not intuitive and not able to figure it out.
Any help is appreciated.

Last post by csmith - May 10, 2025, 02:43:29 PMI finally got this working. You're right. There are now two different subnets, and the gateway is set only on the wireless link.
What drove me nuts was that with FPP 8.5.1 (UI at the Advanced level), there are main and backup SSID settings to link to wireless networks. I entered details for both, and FPP would reboot at the oddest times when trying to change parameters. On a whim, I removed the settings for the backup wireless network, and suddenly, the clouds parted, the sun shone, and everything started working great.

While the new UI is quite attractive, 4.1 was simpler to use for me. It had an "other" output option that allowed choosing the port (a GPIO port in my case) as well as the kind of data to send out that port. Simple, easy to understand, quick to configure. Imagine my surprise when the ability to do that no longer exists in the "other" output options.
To configure an equivalent function, I needed considerable help. It was suggested that I create a "string" under the PiHat tab using a virtual eeprom. HUH? This is miles and miles and galaxies away from version 4.1.
I can understand the idea of a string, even though in my application, I had only four pixels. The application involves four patio lights. Granted, it's not an earth-shaking setup and I guess it's somewhat logical to think of it as a "string," just a very short one. But the idea of PiHat and eeprom never crossed my mind. I don't use a Pi Hat -- these four patio lights are driven directly from the GPIO port. And "eeprom?" Nope. And to boot, it's not even a real eeprom, it's an invisible one!
Perhaps you might add the word Strings to the PiHat tab so that it reads PiHat/Strings so that a near brain-dead person like myself doesn't have to scour the manual (very nice, but not helpful in my case) and burn several hours looking around, trying to figure out how to replicate something in the new system that was brutally simple to do in an earlier version.

You do not want the Wi-Fi interface to be on the same subnet as the Ethernet interface, that can cause all kinds of problems.

Normally this scenario has eth0 set to a different vlan ie ..not .2. from the wifi side.

Running latest FPP 8.5.1
One Pi set as master player and 2 as remotes. All sync up and play fine together via dedicated wifi network. Lights blink everywhere.
But...
When I try to log into any Pi wirelessly to check FPP, the connection times out. On that Pi I can disconnect the data cable going to the controllers and then get in wirelessly to check FPP. Plug the pixel controller data cable back into the Pi and wireless access disappears again.
Yet I know wireless is working because the 3 Pis are in perfect sync.
Frustrating. Am I doing an unnatural act?
Here is how each Pi is configured:
Unit 1: Set as FPP Player
etho set to static address 192.168.2.200, netmask 255.255.0.0 and gateway at 192.168.1.1
wlan0 set to static address 192.168.2.201, netmask 255.255.0.0 and no gateway. It logs into a dedicated wifi network
Unit 2: Set as FPP Remote

I am quite new here, and am creating a project with FPP ran on my Raspberry Pi 4B.
I have acquired many LED Panels, and configured them properly with my 5A-75B colorlight card on software V11.
However, when I go to setup the output in FPP, my panel dimensions are not listed within the dropdown.
Is there any workaround for this? Or do I have to purchase new panels?
Buying new panels would be horrendous for me, as I already own 30+ panels of 104x52 26S.
Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

I expect that is a mistake in the release notes. The F16v5 and F48v5 likely has hardware to receive input on its Smart Receiver ports so perhaps they accept DMX through those with that new feature?
