XLights Variant

I am relatively new to Xlights.  I am trying to troubleshoot an issue that I think is keeping me from using "FPP Connect" to send my sequences to my KULP controller. I hope someone on the forum can help me select the correct Variant in xlights. I have a Beaglebone Black, with a Kulp K8-B Cape. I also added a Falcon 4 String Smart Differential Receiver Board v2.01 (Black). This all works fine when my computer is plugged into the eth port of the BBB and Xlights is running. I am going through all my settings trying to eliminate possible issues.

You need to select "K8-B", not "F8-B".

Daniel, That is what was causing the error message. The wife kept saying you're just overlooking something, I'm sure it will be simple! haha. I am now able to send my sequence to the controller and it works as long as I add the pixel output info each time. This is what it looks like before I use FPP Connect,

For some reason, it deletes ports 2 and 3. At least I can now run the show from my controller.

Can you post a screenshot of your Controller page in xLights and then the visualizer page?

It looks like you have not configured ports for those 2 strings.  XLights will still assign channel numbers to them even if they are not assigned to a port or controller and include them in the sequence files but FPP Connect uses the controller definitions from the layout and if you didn't define a controller or assign props to specific ports on that controller, FPP Connect will not include them when configuring the controller and will remove any settings in the controller that it doesn't know about.  Go into the layout page in XLights and take a look at those 2 strings definitions under controller.  It will probably say none.  You can click on the controller def box and assign them to your controller and the port that they are connected to and don't forget to save after you make the changes and then the next time you use FPP Connect, it will include those strings when it configures the controller.

I forgot about the visualizer. Again I am pretty new with Xlights, but I remember someone telling me a few years ago to move the ports to the right. I have not made any changes at this point. I would like to get some feedback from the forum.

Move them to the ports they are suppose to be on.  With them not assigned you are telling xLights you are not using them and then xLights is setting your controller to match

Life is good!!!! That fixed it, now I am able to upload sequences, with no issues. I want to thank you all for your help.
