A couple versions ago, FPP would fill in music on a sequence that was longer than the associated soundtrack. This work great for filler space between shows. Now FPP automatically terminates the sequence to match the song legnth. Looking to get the old behavior back or the ability to launch a song playlist at the same time a sequence containing no songs is started?

That has not been the case for the last 10 years that I know of, and that wouldn't be a function of FPP, it would be xLights and that doesn't do it either.

Actually, xLights will make the sequence the same length as the audio source, even if you set the sequence length longer and have effects.

I doubt that will happen as that would be quite complex when it is quite easy to modify the audio track on your own.
If to err is human, I am more human than most people.

Actually using Vixen.

The sequence is uplaoded with no song and is 10 minutes long. When I place it in the playlist and manually choose a song, it always shortens the sequence to match the song. I did this for 4 different songs last night and the result was the same on each. This works, but I can't do random songs. Stuck with the same pattern.

So you were filling the sequence time with random music? I wonder if you turned on "after hours" before the sequence and then turned it off after if you could kind of get what you are looking for?
