This is my first shot at pixels but I have 100 pixels on a 6 foot star mounted 100 feet up in the air on a tower. I have local power injection up on the tower and a data wire (old coax cable that has been there for years) running down to the ground to be able to plug into the PiCap.

strange thing that happened though is I sent power up to the top of the tower and the pixels lit up on full white without the data wire being connected to anything.

I was very excited to see my very first pixels light up tonight in the dark 100 feet up on the tower!!!! ...but something is not right, why would they be on if nothing is connected to the data wire yet? could it possibly be picking up some sort of interference on the old coax cable and making a fake signal to turn on the pixels...?

It's common for pixels to light up full white when powered up with no data input.
