Any idea when new stock might be in for these boards?

jnealand

I'll bet if you can tell them when the worldwide chip shortages will be over they could give you a good idea.  Just get in line like the rest of us.  sigh.

Everything is still coming out of china, just slower. There is a shortage not an outage so asking if they have any contact with their supplier is not out of the question but thanks for thinking you know what you're talking about.

If there is a chip shortage, then that means that the chips are not available, even the suppliers do not know when the chips will be available at a price point that would be reasonable.

Actually Jim DOES know what he is talking about and has been doing Animated lighting for probably longer than just about anyone out there and is a wealth of knowledge. If you want to get help or advice, I would suggest that you don't continue this attitude.

He obviously doesn't when it comes to supplies of the manufacturer, like I said shortage doesn't equal outage which can be witnessed by a whole host of other hobbyist electronics that are still coming to market, albeit slower. I also don't need any help or advice from a dev but thank you for another 2 cents that didn't mean much.  ;)

You'd think the one that made the FIRST smartass comment would get hit. sigh

Unless IC prices come down or there is a huge price rise on the F48v4, David may not make any F48v4's this year.

I am a new lurker around pixel controllers and have been given the approval with the wife to get started. I understand the IC shortage in my industry of work. Through some lengthy research I have decided to steer away from LOR, AlphaPix, Hinkspix, and other brands. I like the Falcon family.

It got me thinking with @darylc comment, about not making them from just even a price standpoint. I would hate to fully invest in a brand economy and then have issues with getting a main controller replaced and then stuck with a lot of supporting hardware that is useless. Seems to be a risk with small productions, but the specs seem to be pretty outstanding.

Perhaps I am just joining at the worst time, and now just playing the waiting game for availability.

Just hang in there like the rest of us.  Things should improve in the future.

Yeah your timing isn't great.  I'm hearing that the F48v4's will be made this year after all, but exactly when is a moving target still and that the pricing is less of an issue than I previously thought.

Has anyone heard about more stock being available this season?  Really need two f48v4s for the display this year. Thanks

The NS version can be purchased now.  Think this model only supports a single ethernet connection.
