Projector Controler

I'm doing projection mapping "kinda". I have too much light pollution in my yard along with trees and such to do true projection mapping so I'm going to use projectors to projecting inside a black box, virtual matrix I thinking is the term   What are the suggested controller for the projector?  I was thinking a FPP running on a Begal Bone or maybe a Pi.   Any users have feedback or suggestions

FPP doesn't do hdmi video on beaglebones, get a pi 4 or 5

What do you suggest 4 or 5 and how much memory do you suggest?
