For those that were on the xEssentials thing last Wednesday, you saw a new version of the PocketScroller.   Also, anyone that went to the Expo got to see them in action as the two panels that were running at the xLights booth were both running using the new PocketScrollers.   However, I hadn't had time to get them added to my store, but since stock of the "v1" is running very very low, I decided I better get them up there.  :)

So, what's new?   Well the obvious thing that is new is the optional OLED display.  Along with that are two push buttons (like my other controllers) for the menus and a temperature sensor.   I've kept the size "almost" the same (it's 1.5mm taller to make room for the buttons and oled connector).

Important note: The PocketScroller v1 uses EVERY SINGLE GPIO pins available on the PocketBeagle.  Thus, in order for the OLED to work, it has to share some GPIO pins with Port 6.   If port 6 is used to drive panels, the OLED will shut off once FPPD starts. Thus, if you need to use all 6 outputs, the usefulness of the OLED is diminished a bit.   However, if you don't use port 6, you get the full OLED status and menus.

I do have a question for everyone......

Should the default orientation of the WHITE OLED be "normal" (as in the picture") or "flipped"?     Basically, when mounted, would people expect the ports on the bottom and OLED to stick UP (so flipped would be better) or ports on top and OLED extends down (so normal)?

It easily changed in the settings, but the question is: what should the default be that is burned onto the eeprom?    Mostly just curious about how people mount the PocketScrollers and what people would expect.

For any board, I like to have power connections on the bottom where possible, so I would say stick with "normal" for the default.

Normal would be my suggestion - not that I have an OLED on mine...
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.
