I have two ports, 31 and 32, on one of my 5 F32-B's that flickers.  At first I thought it may have been bad cabling / data signal, since those two are the furthest from the controller.  Checked connections, added Famp's, no improvements.  Then I realized they were flickering in sequence.  It was always the same exact pixels flickering on each...at the same exact time.  So I did further testing, like swapping ports (30 and 31) with other similar elements (99 pixel canes) that were working properly (on port 30) and it followed the port and not the element.  To note, these ports I swapped are on the same power supply, no power injection, 99 pixel elements. So this told me that it definitely wasn't the element, cabling or power...it was the port.  I tried to see if it was only happening in test mode, but it's not...it's happening in a sequence as well.  At first I was only testing on all white, but then I tested independently on R, G and B...all the same result.

So it looks like I've got two bad ports 31 and 32, and since this particular controller is fully loaded, I wanted to check with all of you, and @dkulp, on ideas before I swap it for my spare....thankfully I always buy a spare :) Before I do that though, as it's a lot of work to remove, if any of you know something that could be causing this strange issue that is not physical, I'd rather try that before replacing my entire controller.  Thanks again!

My guess is those ports are on gpio0 which can have some timing issues that cause a random flicker in bridge mode.  Can you see if the pixels on those ports flicker in remote mode?

nmiller0113

@Cjaqua , thanks for the response.  I'm actually speaking with @dkulp about this over email.  It sounds like it is the issue you're referring to, but it's not related to bridge mode.  I'm running in remote mode.

Did you find a fix/workaround?

Good luck getting this resolved - only time I've seen flickering is in bridge mode with two sources of data coming across with xlights.

Thanks.  Not resolved, but an issue @dkulp has acknowledged has to do with ports tied to GPIO0.  In my case, those ports are 31-40 on the F32-B.  So I moved the two ports being impacted, 31-32, to 41-42 until @dkulp has it resolved.

Hopefully this will be the year that Dan finds a fix for the random flicker on the GPIO0 ports.
