BBB won't boot when attached to F32-B   tried all different ways just will not boot, pull it off the F32-B and boots up perfect....???What am I doing wrong?

Are you powering the BBB off of the F32-B?  If your power supply doesn't reach full power quickly enough the BBB may not start.  More in this thread - http://falconchristmas.com/forum/index.php/topic,11345.0.html

Also, are both jumpers in place on the F32-B and set to correct voltage?

Thanks for replies   yes jumpers are in place and correct and I changed to different power supply but no go   just don't get it

Are you using 12V or 5V?

Do you have a multimeter handy?   Can you check if you are getting 5v at the jumper labelled "jumper to power the bbb"?  It's possible the Buck isn't working correctly.

Dan, you are right   did test with multi @ 20v setting and only getting .05 where I test the ports from power supply and get straight up 12.0   great

kwhiteh1

Dan, so what do I do if Buck is not working?

dkulp

Actually, it could also been the zener.   Do you have something that can provide 5V?  If you set the jumper to 5v and apply the 5v, do you get the 5v at the other jumper?  If so, it's the buck.  If not, it's the zener.

In either case, swapping out the board itself is likely the easiest, but would obviously take a few days.   Did you buy from Wired Watts?  If so, you'd need to send a note to him.

The other options:
1) If it's the Buck,  the part is MEZD71202A-G which you could order from mouser or digikey or something fairly quick and replace.

2) If it's the zener, the quickest "fix" is to just remove it.  HOWEVER, if you do that, be very very careful to not plug 12v in with the jumper set to 5v.   If you do, it WILL fry everything.

Thanks, sent email to Ken (yes Wired Watts) to see what he says.....  do you think this is something I did??
