Hello,

I'm looking for some help setting up my WB48 to use a wifi adapter.

Device: Wally's Lights WB48 Controller
Version Info
FPP Version:7.5
Platform:BeagleBone Black
FPP OS Build:v2023-12
OS Version:Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)
Hardware Serial Number:
Kernel Version:5.10.168-fpp
System Boot Time:2024-03-03 16:12:15
fppd Uptime:02:21:11
Local Git Version:eacc0bd ChangeLog
Remote Git Version:eacc0bd

The wifi adapter is just one I had around the house, EDUP AC600M USB WiFi Adapter
If I use the FPP Gui and configure the SSID and WPA key, it won't connect.
If I SSH into it, I get 'no result' scans.

Is it the wifi adapter?
Is it WPA listed vs WPA2 my router is running?
Is there another method to configure the wifi? Every time I try to enable the wifi in SSH, I get a 'SIOCADDRT Operation not permitted' via the 'sudo ifconfig wlan0 up' command.

This might be an older Wi-Fi adapter that Linux no longer supports.  I had to replace several of mine for that very reason.
You might have some luck by adding a boot delay if your Wi-Fi adapter takes longer to get recognized.

That isn't needed and not recommended.

If to err is human, I am more human than most people.

Many EDUP (and many others) wifi adapters at not LINUX supported.  FPP requires LINUX supported devices.

A new wifi adapter did the trick, and it was basically plug and play. I used the wifi adapter Wallys calls out for the board. https://amzn.to/3NEpM8E
