Falcon Player (FPP) / Re: Touchscreen
Last post by breese - Today at 07:06:58 AM
This morning I did a Clean Image of 6.0 for my Pi B+
Only configured the first setup screen and expanded the storage as needed.
The built in audio is still labeled as Dummy

There is also a big issue with boot times and errors associated to
Aug 14 07:48:43 Sleigh systemd[1]: Failed to start Entropy Daemon based on the HAVEGE algorithm.

Please let me know if there is anything you need to help resolve this.
You cannot see attachments on this board.

Quote from: CaptainMurdoch on August 13, 2022, 09:58:01 PMThe onboard audio is disabled on the PiCap when using the legacy 2-string RPIWS281X channel output.  The RPIWS281X code needs the same PWM functionality that the onboard audio uses, so onboard audio is automatically disabled by FPP.  This is one of the reasons I wrote the new DPIPixels code, because we can leave the onboard audio on, and drive more than 2 strings of WS281X pixels on a Pi.
How do we fix this?
I thought using GPIO 18 and 19 would not interfere with anything else.

Falcon PiCap / Powering Falcon PiCap for DMX ...
Last post by danielr - August 13, 2022, 11:24:40 PM
I'm going to play around with moving heads running of a Falcon PiCap attached to a Pi 3B+. I won't be using it for pixels or any other functions other then running DMX moving heads off the cap for testing and my show. My question is, can I power the Pi and the Picap from a usb power supply such as the 5v 3amp ones you can buy in a shop or do I need to power it from a 5v or 12v power supply so that it can power the DMX on the picap?

I use a Hantek 6022BE that I picked up off Amazon a few years ago for $60-65 I believe.  I don't pull it out much, but it has been helpful while working on the new DPIPixels code.  I even use OpenHantek to view the data under Linux so I don't have to fire up a Windows VM.

Yeah I was curious to see it visually if I end up using an Famp unless the visual is not as easy as the curve being broken up.
Also forgot to mention I've heard that the cheap o scope in that link maybe suitable for adjusting the gains on a car audio amp I sometimes like to do my own car audio work.
Non-professional of course

The K8-B also has 4 GPIO pins exposed.

Falcon PiCap / PiCap Slow DMX output?
Last post by robj2022 - August 13, 2022, 11:42:27 AM

Falcon PiCap to DMX is very slow output.

Testing with a Falcon V4 works great. PiCap doesn't.  I'm using the same cables in both setups, no wifi involved.

xlights on PC, Output to Lights -> Falcon V4->DMX pixel changes instantly
xlights on PC, Output to Lights -> Falcon PiCap->DMX pixel changes after about 2-3 seconds.

PiCap running on a Raspberry Pi3, FPP version 6.0.2-8-g8bc1f372FPP in Player mode
Channel input enabled, 1 input active, E131, unicast, FPP Channel start 1, end 510, universe 1, universe count 1, universe size 510
Channel outputs: other, active DMX-Open, start channel 1, Chanel count 16, Desc blank, Port ttyAMA0

PiCap works, sending the right pixel color, it just is tremendously slow to update, and rapid changes are lost in the time lag.Am I in a wrong mode or missing an important step?

Support FPP
