I have a K8-b, I'm looking to buy an FM transmitter for my show but don't know a whole lot about them. Is there any that you guys like/ would recommend?

First of all, you will need a USB sound card for that controller if you don't already have one, many people like the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Play! 3.

As for a transmitter, I like the sound quality of one of these little things:

I've tried 4 budget transmitters, and this is my favourite.  Search "FM Transmitter Board" on Amazon, and you'll find it.

You will require a USB cable and adapter to power it, and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable to connect audio to it.

Hope this helps.

From what I read, using the usb for power will not use the aux input, you have to power from the board inputs. I am guessing by using the usb,  it received the audio data through it.

The VAST FMT212 runs directly off the USB port, has been a reliable transmitter, and is well-supported.

Where can you purchase a VAST FMT212r?  I've searched the web but eBay seems to be the only place I can find them.

If you want to build you own, check out the Pixel Radio project.

LOL, that issue bit me in the butt a while back. When I first started, I bought one of these just to test my system while I was learning/building until I decided on which "Real" transmitter I wanted to use, and used the USB input for power and it worked great....It ended up working so well I didn't replace it until 3 years later. But in the meantime, my daughter wanted a show and I bought one of these transmitters and it "didn't work" even though I connected it the same way as the first one, returned it and got another one...same thing....I didn't think I would get 2 bad ones in a row and did some research and that is when I discovered that some use the USB for power only and some use the USB for both power and input, and when using the USB it disables the other input (It doesn't make sense to have 2 audio inputs...) Once I connected it correctly, it worked. They look almost identical too.
If to err is human, I am more human than most people.
