A little off topic, how can I set LED-Matrix brightness, on xLights on the controller tab, I have it set to 30% brightness, but still too bright, looked at FPP input/output , Channel output, LED panels, don't see anywhere were to adjust brightness...thanks...

You have not told us any info about your matrix setup.  In my P10 setup using an octoscroller there is a brightness setting in the LED Panels config screen.  But it uses a single digit of 1 thru 10 and not the percentage that one sees with nodes.

Brightness for the ColorLight controller is done thru the LEDVision software.

Why not lower the brightness in your xlights effects?

With panels, you can get MUCH better colors/images if you adjust the brightness and gamma either in the BBB panels page or vie the ColorLight software.   If you do it in xLights (or via brightness plugin) it drops the number of color shades available.  For example, if you run at 25%, you only get 64shades.   If you set a gamma of 2.2, that number drops even further to about 40 shades.

If you set the brightness in ColorLight or the BBB Panels, instead of reducing the number of colors, it reduces the pulse widths of the "on" times.  Thus, it retains the full 256 shades.   For gamma, ColorLight uses 12bit color and the BBB can be set to use up to 12bit.   The 256 shades are mapped up to 4096 shades, then gamma applied.  With a Gamma of 2.2, that leaves over 230 shades still available.      For things like videos on the panels, things will look much better if you can keep as many shades as possible.

breese suggested adjusting brightness in LEDvision also, am using a CM4 to drive the panels, no brightness setting on that tab when using Raspberry pi...
