I have my Raspberry conf. with 7.0with the an I.P. 172.16.0.30, and it cannot find my Falcon F48 on show network 192.168.1.103.  Thoughts?

MikeKrebs

Two completely different networks. You will need to change your RPi to your show network, set up a route on something or use an actual router product to get the two to talk.

I use my RPi wired network to talk to my show and I use the wireless to connect to home. There was some stuff I did to make it work that was talked about in the manual. See the section titled Common Network Setups for some hints and tips.

Assuming you are using a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask on both devices.... 172.16.0.30 and 192.168.1.103 are separate networks and will not talk unless you have route tables setup in both directions.  As MikeKrebs suggested, If 192.168.1.x is your show network, and 172.16.0.x is your home network, you could use both the wifi and eth interfaces of the Pi.  Assign a unique 192.168.1.x address to the ethernet ip address of the pi, and add the 172.16.0.30 address to the wifi of the Pi.

One option would be to use the "Proxy" feature and access your show network through the Proxy service.  Another option would be to setup "IP Forwarding" by changing the UI from "basic" to "advanced" or higher.  The IP forwarding feature will likely require you to modify your home router configuration and add a static route that sends 192.168.1.x traffic to the FPP device.

Sorry I wasn't articulate in explaining my issue.  My pi uses 172.16.0.30 to respond to uploads from xLights to load my sequences and the fpp connect works fine and the fseq are loaded on the SD card.  In the pi output tab I have the F48 ethernet connection 192.168.1.103 and pings good. On pi status tab multisyc shows the F48 in bridge mode connected.
When I play a playlist the pi shows playing but nothing is going out to the smart receivers thus no pixels are working.
However when I load up xScheduler the F48 sends data out and the pixels light up, albeit the sequences are off.

Again sorry for the confusion, and Thank you for you inputs.   I keep trying to figure it out and hope I get lucky.

No worries.

So it sounds like you are using what is referred to as a "Separate Show Network" design? In order for that to work, you have to tell your network how to navigate to the different networks. This is referred to as Routing and there are 3 basic ways to do it. The best way will depend on your individual show design. This video might help? (It would help to watch the whole video to understand networking a little better!) https://youtu.be/68exxlJDox4?si=BWJdNHkVvFOfeKeK&t=1627
