How can I distribute a lighting effect across multiple ports on Falcon F16v3 and X-Lights?
Practical example:
Megatree consisting of two strips of 400 lights each.
I would like to put one in port 1 and one in port 17 (first channel of the expansion).
Someone explain for f16v3 and xlights.

Thank you.

They have to be consecutive. So in your example place on 16 then it will go to 16 and 17.

Actually, it shouldn't be like that, because when you add the extension board, the 17 counts the sum (1024) of pixels together with port one. (2-18, 3-19, and so on)
Is there a way to split the LED load between two ports (one on the main board and one on the extension board), so that I can always use 40 frp, because I am always far from 800 pixels (20 frp)?

This does not solve your problem but mega trees often use a lot of power so I always start my mega trees so that half the port go to the first power connection and half go to the second power connection.  If using 8 ports for the tree with a 16 port controller start the tree on port 5.  Then half the lights will be on 5-8 and the other half will be on 9-12.  In regards to the OPS issue, I have been in this hobby a long time and I cannot recall anyone ever using non continuous ports for a mega tree.  It has to do with how the mega trees are handled internally in the code.

I am.  My pixel tree has 26 strings being driven by an F16v3 and the 16 port expansion board.  Strings 1 - 16 are ports 1 - 16 on the main board, and strings 17 - 26 are ports 7 - 16 on the expansion board.  Ports 1 - 3 on the expansion board are the three strings for the pixel star, and ports 4 - 6 are used for power injection on the star.  I don't remember why I did it that way, but it made some sense at the time...
The F16 makes that very easy to do.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.
