So I give up can any one explain to me how do I use make or what do I need to buy to be able to use a dmx wall wash light bar with x lights and f16v4 controller.

You need to be a little more clear on what the issue you are having is.  Xlights has no problem working with DMX devices and the f16V4 has a serial port for DMX as well.  Unless you are using XLights to configure your controller, you don't need to even really define a protocol.  Just make sure that your string type is correct for the number of primary colors your wall washer is using.  Let is know where you are getting hung up and we should be able to help you get past those issues.

I don't know a lot about dmx  I have a wall wash light bar that uses dmx its a 110v light bar and uses 3 wires that are dmx one wire is data + one wire is data - and the other is ground
How do I use the f16v4 to control the light how do I wire it up and do I need to get a dmx controller or something?

In case you haven't figured it out yet, the manual shows the position of the DMX jumpers and the cable pinout needed on the F16 side. You will have to wire the DMX correctly based on its inputs.
