F48V4-NS TX-RX Pins

There are two vertical pin headers over by the OLED display, under the Network RJ45 port. the two headers are labelled "P1" and "P2", and the pins are labelled  "GND" "TX" and "RX". I've been trying to figure out what their function is, and can't find any mention of them anywhere online.

Normally I see TX RX GND pins like this, I assume its a serial console connection, and considering its pretty close to the ESP-07 chip, I'd also assume this is a 115kbaud terminal connection into the processor.

But I'd like to know for sure what they do before I start connecting things to them.

Anyone know for sure?

PS: Similar question for the 5-pin "U2" / "VR3" component mounted on a tiny vertically mounted circuit board, located right next to the incoming power connector and on-board output fuses. On my board, the component is marked R01110 0OYCD, and looks like some kind of chunky resistor, but I dunno. Due to where its located, I assume its part of the 12V conditioning circuitry. But I'm not familiar with resistors being designated "U2" - there must be something else going on inside that lump. Anyone know what it is?

Partly, I just like to know what provided interfaces, if that's what they are, can offer. Somebody designed the TX RX pins into the board - but neglected to document them (as far as I can find). So - what do they do?

And the mystery component - well, what is it? Why was that spot vacant in other models, then the component added later, at least for the F48V4-NS. Not a big deal, but curious.

Partly, I'm investigating what other communication interfaces exist on my board for purposes unrelated to making the outputs twinkle. Is there an I2C interface, for example? ESP chips offer a lot of comm's choices like I2C and SPI, but they don't appear to have been broken out. Those TX RX pins might offer something close enough.

Um, yeah, I got that since there is no documentation describing them.

I still wanna know what those pins do, and that component is. Its my device, I'm responsible for it care and maintenance, so it matters to me what purpose they serve. Otherwise, I'll figure it out on my own.

The pins are prominently exposed, and silk-screen labelled, so what do you think happens when a user looks at the board and sees them?

What's the big deal? If its some big secret, fine, drop me a private message, or an email ... I pinky-swear promise not to tell the world. Geez.
