GIF or MP4 display on a matrix?

Is there a way to display an MP4 file or a GIF file on a matrix in xlights?

Pretty sure the "video" effect will add either.  I play both .mp4 and .gifs on my megatree and matrices.

Xlights has the Picture Effect that will display pictures on the matrix it is applied to and a Video effect that should be able to play MP4's on a matrix that it is assigned to.
