EDM Audio and RemoteFalcon plugin conflict

As mentioned a few times... whenever the EDM Audio plugin is installed, RemoteFalcon votes play 1-3 seconds of sequence lights with no audio, then the song starts over and plays fine.  Have tried on both 5.5 and 6.2 and they each have the same issue.  This is repeatable every single song without fail.  Uninstall the EDM Audio plugin and the glitch disappears, reinstall the EDM Audio plugin it comes back.  Normal playlist always plays fine.

If I have to choose between the RDS feature working, and removing the glitch, I will choose no RDS.  (No one wants a glitchy show)  With that said, I have been working all summer upgrading my sound system, so this is kind of a bummer.  It is what it is, but I would still like to have RDS working.  I see a couple of other RDS plugins for FPP.  I don't have a VAST transmitter, but I installed the Vast plugin, and it does not seem to cause the RemoteFalcon voting issue.  Also, I don't need to use FPP and could go back to xSchedule if it would work with RDS and RemoteFalcon.  Does anyone have any experience with either using the Vast FM transmitter plugin, or using the EDM FM transmitter directly from xSchedule?

I'm seeing the same problem. RF requests play a few seconds without sound then start over with sound.

Have you found a solution?

Unfortunately uninstalling the EDM audio plugin resolves it immedately.  I opened a Github issue, but it looks like @drlucas has ghosted the plugin.  @Poporacer last modified it, but he hasn't committed on the issue.  It appears to be a playlist interrupt issue, as it will happen any time the normal FPP playlist is interrupted.  Remote Falcon just happens to be a popular item that does this.

I just removed the plugin and set the radio text to advertise the website instead.  Kind of disappointing after I spent a good chunk of my summer setting it up.

Ok. I will try removing the EDM plugin too. Kind of disappointing but maybe it will get resolved. Until then, as you said, I'd rather not have a glitchy show.

It looks like the EDM-RDS plugin uses Python 2 which isn't on a modern FPP 6 install.

I ran this command on the machine to get Python 2 installed. The EDM-RDS plugin works again. I removed it and then added it after I ran the line to get python 2 installed:

sudo apt install python

Python appears to already be installed in my case, and it still does not work on my system.  Thanks for the follow up info though, it was worth a shot!

Do you know what operating system you are using?

Running FPP 6.2 and Python 2.7.18-9  I did not install Python.  Not sure if it is installed by default, or with another plugin.  It is installed regardless, and I still have the issue.

Interesting. Did you try removing the plugin and adding it again? Can you look in the logs to see if there is anything interesting?

The EDM Audio plugin has always installed and worked fine with the normal FPP playlist.  The issue mentioned in the post, only appears if you are interrupting the normal FPP playlist such as Remote Falcon voting.  I have installed multiple fresh images of FPP 5.5 and 6.2 and never had any python problems that I am aware of.
