Hello, so the issue I seem to have is with the xlights I am certainly not an expert yet, but when I choose a color for my light string say purple the pixel seems to turn green or red not the choosen color, now when I send the sequence to the Controller Alpha Pix 4 it also seems to have a different color than the chosen collor. On the Test mode for the controller I can get the correct color by choosing GRB I believe. How do I get everything to match up so my sequences are correctly displaying the correct colors chosen everytime. Help.

Do I need to make everything matchup like if I change the RGB Pixel string to GRB do I also change the string properties in xlights and Alpha and Xlights.

Thank You to all.

It is not uncommon to need to change the color order of lights on occasion.  I personally change the color order in the xlights model settings.  You will need to render and save all your sequences for the change to take effect, and possibly upload the settings to your controller again.  If you are manually configuring your controllers, you may need to adjust the order on the controller itself.

Also, make sure that you only change the color order in ONLY 1 PLACE.  RGB in any setting basically means make no changes to the data stream as that is the supposed standard but in many cases, especially with older nodes, that is not always the case.  If you set string to GRB, then the codes for red and green will be swapped wherever you set it.  If you set it in Xlights, then Xlights will swap them during rendering and they will be in the correct order in the fseq file.  If you set it in the controller output for the string, then they will be swapped as the data is being sent to the string.  Either one will work just fine.  If you set it both in Xlights and the controller, they will be swapped twice which basically cancels the swap out and the color order will be incorrect sgain.

I think the Alphapix can only do one data change (limited choices) and it is for the whole controller so leave the controller at RGB. Change the particular props that need changing to be correct. Then xLights can handle mixing and matching. Your test mode on the controller will still be "wrong" but test mode doesn't affect sequence playing if the correct order is chosen in the prop.

I keep everything in xlights as RGB.  Then I change the order in the controller.  If I change it in xlights and change it wrong I have to go back and re-render, save, and re-upload using FPPConnect.  I always make make 3 30sec sequences each of which turns my whole display one color.  I can run that in test mode and make changes to the controllers color order while the sequence is running.  When I get the right order in the controller, I'm done.  No returning to xlights and re-rendering etc.

Assuming Mike is correct about the limited Alphapix color changing abilities, it might be better to do this on the xlights side, but as long as the Alphapix can handle the change on the controller, either would work.

If you want to make the color order setting on the controller, make sure that your controller configuration can handle virtual strings or substrings and that it allows you to change the color order of each substring on the port. It is possible that you could have multiple props on a port that have different color orders on their nodes and unless your controller can handle this, life gets easier setting it in the sequencer.

You've got GRB set, but in xLights, you probably set RGB, so the colors are off. Change the LED string settings to GRB in xLights. Also, in Alpha Pix 4, set it to GRB. Only then everything will work as expected. Yes, you have to match it everywhere, otherwise, chaos. ;)

That is completely incorrect.  RGB is the default color order which in both the sequencer and the controller means MAKE NO CHANGES.  If you set a different order in either the sequencer or controller, then that device will make the changes to send the color commands in the correct order for the node type defined.  If you set both of them to something other than RGB, then both devices will change the color order and really screw things up because both devices assume the incoming data is in RGB format and that will NOT be the case for the controller if the sequencer already changed it to something else.
