P10 Panels wont work on FPP 8.0

I seem to have come against a brick wall.. apparently FPP 8.0 is smarter than me or something.. I have a Raspberry Pi 3 b+ That I just imaged a new SD card with fpp version 8, have configured the LED panels screen but cannot seem to get any type of output? I have tried a mirage of settings to no avail. I do know that my panels work as I have a different SD card with version 2 on it, that works just fine. I have tried to compare settings and the only thing I can determine that is different is the FPP Player mode is set to bridge mode, and 8.0 has no option for bridge mode. I would be much appreciated if someone can please assist with helping me figure this out. Thanks.

Whoops left out that piece of information.   No it is actually a pi hat on the pi. I rolled back to 7.5 and it works flawlessly.  Version 8 seemed to really have some serious errors going on for me as well where it hesitated to want to save screens and or update once it had done so.  I used the Rasbian installer to do both version 8, and to roll back to version 7.5.

Yes, Bridge mode has been deprecated for a long time as it was a bit confusing and people were having problems based on this. 

I would be much appreciated if someone can please assist with helping me figure this out.

It would be much easier if we had all the information.
What controller? You said that it wasn't a Colorlight, but there are dozens of Pi-Hats
How are things connected? Computer to network>FPP Player to network via cable>PiHat with some sort of driver to network via cable?
What isn't outputting? The Test Pattern, a locally saved sequence, playback from xLights?

Version 8 seemed to really have some serious errors going on for me as well where it hesitated to want to save screens and or update once it had done so.

Save screens? Update? We have several hundreds of FPP devices running on FPP 8 and you are the first to report this issue. It would be nice to figure out why your configuration is behaving this way.

The LED Panel test screen, i have also tried sending my scrolling text test from vixen to it, which works on version 2 of FPP (Old I know) And now works on version 7.5. After my post I thought I would try the most recent version before 8, and within 10 minutes I had it imaged,setup and working. Perhaps it didnt write something correctly using the raspberry pi imager version 1.8.5, ?

Screenshots of your last settings would be helpful. I will have to reconnect it and can take screen shots of setttings. I took screen shots from version 2 that worked and tried it in version 8, still had no out put. Took the same screen shots to version 7.5, and it worked flawlessly for me. perhaps part of the problem with 8 is trying to configure it from a windows 7 machine? I didn't poke around and try saving much within it from my newer pc yet, but I had a friend testing a different setup with the same matrix, a raspberry pi 5 and he was not able to get any output either.

I guess it does not appear to be labeled an official "pi-hat" as most are but this is the adapter I have on top of the pi:
 RHL Raspberry PI, Matrix Adapter Kit (renard-shop.com)

Computer to network, from network to FPP player, Hat/Adapter on top of pi with GPIO header.

The Test Pattern on the Input/Output setup > Channel Outputs > LED Panels has a known bug in the current release of FPP V8.  It does not work (may only be intermittent or some configs, but not working on any of mine).  This has been fixed in Master branch according to a comment from Dan.
It should work in Status Display > Display Testing (at least it does on all of mine).

I have a couple of those Pi hats.  Have not powered them up for at least 6 mons but they were working with FPP 7.2? at the time.  One is running 4 P10s and the other runs 4 P5 panels.

Probably not related, but I have had issues with FPP8 and both a Falcon PiCap and a couple of MicroCyb Pi hats.  I would stick with 7.5 for now.

If the test pattern isn't working, then likely no other testing is going to work. You need to get it working from the Test Pattern first. Do you get ANY output from the test pattern?

That shouldn't be a problem, but Windows 7 is pretty old.

But Bridge Mode was not an option in version 7.5 either

I had the same issue with the Hansen Pi hats if that is what you are running on both my Pi3b+ and Pi4. The FPP was stopped and would not start.
I reached out to Alan @ Hansen and he suspected something about  the licence/eeprom is causing the issue. He was going to test on a P3B+ but I haven't heard anything recently on how his testing went.
I'd suggest moving those particular units back to 7.5 until a fix comes out. That worked for me.

FYI, the test pattern mentioned above as not working in FPP v8.0 is only the test from the Input/Output Setup > Channel Outputs > LED Panels.  The test patterns in Status/Control > Display Testing is working fine.
Also note, that this is NOT yet fixed in today's Master Branch.

Do you know if the test patterns from the LED panel screen worked on version 7.5? if you are unsure, is there anyway you would be willing to test it?

Yes it did and it is working fine for me on ver 8 as well.
