Hi everyone,
I have a F48 v1.01 that runs my whole light show. It has been powered off since January until yesterday when I tried powering it on and got nothing, no OLED and no power LED. I verified my 5v power is working but still nothing. The F48 is mounted in a CG-1500 box on the wall of my garage year around but it is not powered. Any ideas for troubleshooting? Thank you.

JonD

Per manual "A 5V with a 3A minimum is required to power the controller. Use either the barrel connector OR the V2 Power Connector to power the board, NOT BOTH. This power supply only powers the controller, it does not provide any power to the pixels themselves. "

Assuming you have tried another outlet, and not something as simple as GCFI that has tripped.  You can make sure the power wires did not corrode from humidly or short out somewhere,  If your not getting any signs of life, sounds like the board could have went bad.

Did you verify that the 5/12v switch or jumper is in place?  I'm not familiar with each version but I know most of them have it.

Thanks for the reply JonD. I have verified power and tried a brand-new Meanwell 5v 60A power supply. I'm only talking about the F48 board.

fauxton, the F48 controller only accepts 5v.

The older smart receivers require 5.3 volts to run.  If you are using a meanwell power supply, you might crank up the volts to 5.3 and see if anything lights up.  If not turn it back down to 5.0.  If that was the issue, it would have probably showed itself last year though.

Thanks JonD, but the problem isn't with the receivers and the Meanwell power supply is outputing 5.3V.

I have emailed David Pitts and went through some basic troubleshooting but ultimately I will be sending it to him to look at.

The F48 manual stated 5v minimum, but it was for an older board revision.  You mentioned 5v, so if you were at 5.0, I thought there might a long shot that 5.3 might get you over the hump.  Some of the new smart receivers require 5.3 volts and was not sure if the newer F48 version did as well.  Glad your getting to the bottom of it.
