Pixel Tree No Longer Works Correctly

In the past years my pixel tree worked, scrolled words, etc. Last year it didn't work so I didn't put it up. This year I took it out and all of the 10 strings of 50 nodes were connected together in a zig zag pattern. I can't get it to work properly. I sequence in xlights, then upload to FPP via FPP Connect. I have just a pixel tree sequence to try and get it right. The test pattern via the pixel controller works fine but when I use my sequence only about 4 strings light up in random patterns. Please Help!

What do the model settings in xLights look like

Poporacer

You should post actual screenshots instead of links to other places. What controller are you using? Is there a reason for the individual Start channels? That is not a common method, and it is usually better to let xLights manage things for you. Did you upload your Inputs and Outputs? How about a screenshot of your Controllers page in xLights as well?

For one, I don't see where I can attach anything. It asks for URL's. I am using a f16v3 and xLights to configure things. Not sure what I should do different with start channels. I am starting them with each universe. Added pics to the previous linked album

The way I understand what you are saying here, change you model settings to this.  I am assuming xLights configured the virtual strings due to the induvial start being selected. You will have to render sequences again and upload controller info again after making these changes. I do not understand your controller page setup.  Why not just the controller you have instead of all the separate items?

You have to select Reply, and not use the Quick Reply below the last message.  When you select Reply, there will be a selection below that for "Attachments and other options".  Click that.  That gives you the option of adding files to upload.  The temperature chart (that I created for an unrelated post on another forum - but it was handy for a demo) was uploaded this way.

Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.

Let xLights manage your start channels, it saves a TON of time and eliminates almost all channel errors.

That is complicating things more than they need to be. Universes have no direct correlation with strings.

Ok, so looking at your pics, you have a LOT of things going on there that are making your life difficult. I am not sure why you configured things the way you did unless you were following some VERY OLD videos. The way you have it in xLights, you cannot let xLights manage your controller which makes things very difficult.

One major issue is that it looks like you are giving your F16 and your FPP the same IP address, that will not work.

Here is how xLights would normally be configured.

In the xLights Controller's page, you would only have one line per controller, not one line per model
In the xLights Controller's page you only list Controllers- It looks like you listed your FPP Player and is getting assigned a Universe?

In FPP E1.31 outputs, you normally only use one line per controller, again, not per model.

On your actual Controller page it doesn't look bad but looks like you have some similar misconfigurations going on as well.

With all the issues you have and probable misunderstandings I would suggest hopping in the Zoom or send me a PM and I can walk you through it.

Most of what you said is likely true. This is how I knew how to do it years ago and didn't change from it. It is overwhelming to try and fix it in the way you mentioned. My FPP has 2 IPs 192.168.86.102 and then I setup another network via the eth0 directly to the f16 192.168.101.1 and 192168.101.2. I then setup a route from my mac so that I can get to both config pages. I get off work in 50 minutes so I'll be looking to work on my lights if that timing works that would be great. In about 3-4 hours I have to start on other stuff. Thanks for the detailed response.

Actually it is SUPER simple.

K-State, it doesn't allow me to uncheck individual start channels.

My IP for the universe entries used to be 192.168.101.2 (f16) but when I clicked discover to get my controller it put in the IP of 192.168.86.102 which is the wifi IP. It has another IP of 192.168.101.1 to talk to the f16 over eth0 hardwired connection

When @Poporacer gets you going it will work and it is going to seem so simple when you are done. The people responsible for the xLights program have made it so operator friendly to get this set up.

Thanks a ton to poporacer! I am all converted to the new xlights way and things are working great! Thanks for all of the responses for help! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
