I have two different F16V5 controllers in my setup. Each have 3 or 4 SRx1V5 receivers connected. The first combination is a controller just purchased this year running build 38. The second controller I have had over a year and is running build 32. Everything works as expected on the build 32 setup. On the build 38 configuration I have an issue that when I power on my timer controlling that side of the yard The SRx1 fuses go into an over current state. If I them unplug power from the receivers and then plug them back in they are fine. They do this every time.

Through trial and error I have isolated the issue and it seems to be related to the new controller running the newer version. If I connect the entire chain to the other controller I do not see the issue. I tried using a different connection on the controller for the receivers but the issue persists so it does not seem to be hardware related. Has anyone else seen any issues like this?

I have considered upgrading my older controller to 38 to see how it behaves, but I'm hesitant to potentially insert the same issue into my second controller. Maybe I'll try it after Christmas.

Downgrade the build 38 controller to build 32 and confirm if it is a firmware problem or not?  I'm thinking it's just the startup current for the strings on the build 38 controller?

I was thinking about that too but wasn't sure if you could downgrade. Would I just install 32 over what I currently have?

I've also read that maybe reinstalling the receiver firmware? I'm not getting the firmware version reported back to either controller as well from any of my receivers. The receivers are all new this summer so I expected they would have current firmware installed but maybe not.

Yeah you can download the controller firmware

Thanks. I have made some progress. I figured out I was trying to see the firmware version in the wrong way. I was just hovering over the bottom part in the visualizer which does show some information. But you actually need to click on the bottom part top pop up another window which will then show the firmware version. I discovered my receivers were only running V2. I upgraded them all to V4. I did need to force some of them to get them to take. This appears to have solved my fuse issue. I still can't see the receiver firmware version number on the build 38 controller, but I can live with that for now. Thanks for the help.

Now that the show season is done I downgraded to version 37 and that solved my issues.
