Which Octoscroller outputs to P10 panels?

I am having a hard time finding the FAQ for the P10/BBB setup page.  I was able to load FPP v1.5-57 on my BBB and I think I got the LED Panels screen setup properly.  I have a 2x3 P10 panel layout, and will be using 3 outputs off of the Octoscroller Cape.

How do I know which output goes to which panel(s)?

You can actually run all 6 panels off 1 output if you want. When you configure the panels in FPP you have settings to indicate the orientation of the panels (arrow), what panel it is and what output it is connected to. The original octoscroller has the labels for the outputs J1-J8 obscured by the connectors. O1 on FPP equates to J1 on the octoscroller. Below is a pic of my octoscrolla which makes it easier to see the connector/output numbers.

I have another question, why does the 5v power supply (DIYLEDEXPRESS) cause the BBB to just randomly shut off?

If I feed 5v from my bench power supply, the BBB runs fine.

I am feeding 5v to the terminal block on the Octoscroller Cape.

Did it randomly power off, or restart when there was a sequence running? If the panels drew too much, then it took away from the BBB getting power. The BBB and a brown out or voltage drop are not good friends.

Randomly, nothing being displayed on the P10 panes.

I have the power supply set to 5.08Vdc.

It is generally good practice to power the BBB separately from the panels.  Not sure about your situation as described, but issues happen in other operations

I will put an o-scope on the power supply to see if it randomly glitches or not.

I am only running 6 panels.  And to add insult to injury, the panels were not displaying anything.  I am in the middle of troubleshooting my BBB settings/xLights setup.
