Formatted the SD and flashed it with Etcher. Put in BBB and connected to USB on PC. Lights blink but even after many minutes I get timeout on 192.168.7.2 on a Windows 10 PC. My other (Pi based) controllers didn't have any problem in the past so I'm generally confident in the steps. Anything I can do to troubleshoot? Tried ping - timeout as well but not sure if ping works for tethered devices.

I'm fairly certain USB tethering will no longer work with Windows 10 and older.   The protocol that was used for Windows was deemed super insecure so the Linux kernel folks completely removed it.

I THINK Windows 11 has the required driver to use the same protocol that the Mac and Linux have used for years, but I'm not 100% sure.

In any case, using USB tethering should not be used.   I'd like to completely remove it at some point.   Too much potential to completely destroy hardware.   Stick with WIFI tethering or direct ethernet connections.

Thanks, I was going based on what's in the K16AB manual. Is there a section (maybe I missed) that talks about how to setup a new FPP BBB using wifi? Does it have it's own access point by default?
