Hi all, I have six P10 1/2 scan panels that I want to use to create a FM display, which controller should I use? A raspberry pi or beaglebone black. My panels are P10 1/2 scan.
Thanks

I strongly recommend the BeagleBone option. Either the BBB OctoPlus or PocketScroller (uses the pocket Beagle).
The support and frame rates are more complete and continue to improve.

I don't believe the Pi capes support the 1/2 scan panels at all.   The Beagles support SOME of the 1/2 scan panels.    You'd have to give it a try.  If it doesn't work, I'd be more than happy to get it working if you send one to me for a week.

The other option is a Pi with a ColorLight.

Thanks for your help, I guess I'm going to try the beaglebone. Do you know any good place to buy it
Thanks

I agree with Jon and to expand on what he said...

If you're driving the panels directly (beagle-cape or pi-hat) then the Beagle is much better than the Pi.  However, if your panels are connected to a ColorLight card then the Pi is better to feed the ColorLight which is driving the panels.

I go to kulplights.com or to WiredWatts.com for Panels and Octos.
Not sure that Wired Watts sells the Beaglebones, but Kulp Lights usually stocks them.
