F16v4 Pixel Controller (Blue) / Re: Set Time/Date

Quote from: jnealand on Today at 08:03:03 AMWhile some controllers can supposedly function as a master I do not believe they really are robust enough to do that.  Their main function is to control lights and not be a master.  Might be fine for a single standalone unit, but there is also not very much maintenance on their firmware like there is on a full functioning FPP.  Back in my long ago LOR and Vixen days I dedicated a computer to run my show.  I will never go back to that.
As systems engineer I understand that.
It would be nice if the Falcon controllers came with a clock chip that Actually Kept Time....

If you have an FPP based controller (or a stand alone FPP device), then you do not need a dedicated laptop.
I tested the battery option multiple times with multiple new batteries, could never get the controller to keep time. I ended up having to make sure the F16V4 had access to my Pi4 and the internet in order to keep the proper time....

You need to click on the black reply button instead of using the quick reply box and then you will have the option to include photo's.

Hello Daniel Kulp

After a few attempts I managed to get to the screen shown in the photo, I'm trying to use FPP on the orange pi Zero 2 to work as a master in future projects. But when I try to establish a connection through the IP address shown in the image on another computer to reach the FPP home screen, I can't. Can you help me with this, what should I do from here, I also have another Orange PI PC model here and if it works I also want to use it later. thank you in advance for your attention. Henry B Garcia.

Was using F16V4 to control my show.  A more experienced user visited during my most challenging evening where my show froze/crashed 10 times.  Uggh.  She suggested I switch to xSchedule on my laptop to run the show.  Figured it all out before bedtime that night.  Ran a long ethernet cable out to one of my 5 controllers to get onto the show network, and had zero trouble from that point on.  Having to the laptop run the show was not as convenient as using a controller, but was super reliable and I had no issues with the F16V4 clock losing time.  Suggest you consider the same.

Thank you for your feedback it is very useful to me.  I changed the DNS on my Pi to 8.8.8.8 before and switched it back to my home router IP last night and today the schedule started as usual (no need to reboot the Pi).  This goes along with your assessment that it is Pi related.
