Hi

I have 2 Smart Receivers connected to F48v4 daisy chained from controller to SR1 the SR2.

When selecting mode A, B or C with dip switches the 4 LEDs switch off indicating no data and props/pixels cannot be controlled.

Port ranges set up in control panel as 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a & 1b, 2b, 3b, 4b.

Anyone else experienced this, is there something I'm missing.  All works in standard mode so might have to run each from different port range on controller.

Regards

What version of the smart receivers do you have?

darylc

If you have receivers with DIP switches (rather than a rotary dial) for setting the mode, they cannot be used in A, B, C mode with v4 controllers.  You can only use them in 'dumb/normal' mode without any daisy chaining.

DaltonArms

Hi darylc
Not sure what you're referring to with 'rotary dial', previous version, I believe had jumpers to select each mode.

Selected 'Dumb Mode' and now works but documentation is a little misleading.

The 4-String Differential SmartReceiver Board can be connected to the F16V2, F16V3 and F4V3 Differential Expansion boards as well as the popular F48 differential controller allowing 4 strings to be placed up to 300+ feet from the controllers.

F48V4
Can drive up to 32768 pixels.  48 Differential Outputs. Local SmartReceiver onboard. Can connect up to 12 Falcon Differential SmartReceiver Chains.

But then states
Will NOT work with F16V4, F48V4 or F16V4 Differential Expansion Board

V4 uses 2.0 Smart Receivers.  V3 uses 1.x Smart receivers.

There is some compatibility between the two versions, but it is limited.

Ideally you should be using the blue 2.0 SRs and then you could chain them.  Since you are using the older style white SRs on the newer controller you have limitations.

DaltonArms

Wish I'd known this when I ordered them!  Ah well, working now so not a major problem other than might have to buy the correct version next year.
Thanks all for replies ;~}

I was about to throw the F48V4 and 32 2.0 Smart Receivers in the trash until i found the settings for the rotary dial and where to turn on all the dip switches.
