Initial f16v5 question

Can I setup new f16v5 using xlights discover controller and pushing the channel/port config to the g16v5 using fpp connect?    Or do I need to do initial f16v5 setup using the f16v5 web browser?   Has been a very long time since I did an initial  controller setup!

I setup the F16V5 via xlights & FPP.  Worked like a champ.  Re-rendered all sequences, re-uploaded to FPP.  One little issue with some mini trees.  Will troubleshoot tomorrow when the sun is up.
