Hi everyone, new FPP user here.  Hopefully I'm posting in the correct location for a support issue, if not please send me in the correct direction.

I was trying to have a synchronized video display using FPP and 3 screens.  I followed the directions in the "Freeware Focus" YouTube video "How to Sync Videos with Multiple Falcon Pi Players".  All seemed to be well for a few loops of the playlist, but then the remotes started crashing randomly.  All 3 devices are Pi4's connected via wifi.  I have 29 mp4 files in the playlist on the master, and all the files are loaded onto the slaves as well.  They play fine, nearly perfectly in sync, then randomly one of the remotes would stop playing and indicate an "abnormal condition" then generate a crash dump.  The mp4's were all generated by Premiere Pro at 1920x1080 @ 29.97 fps, if that matters.  None of them are particularly large, the biggest being around 300MB.

I didn't see anything obvious jump out at me as the problem in the crash dump data.  What would be the next step to try and figure this out?  I was considering trying FPP 7.5 to see if the issue exists there as well, but thought I'd post here before I wipe the sd cards and start fresh.

Morning!  Just wanted to add that I popped out my v8 sd cards and installed v7.5 on new sd cards before bed.  I set the v7.5's up with the same video files i was using on v8 and this has been running without any crashes overnight (around 7 hours so far).  I will say that I was nervous at first, since the remotes didn't always visibly show on screen the video they said they were playing.  I had to reboot both remotes and the player/master at the same time and everything was fine after that.

I will try a fresh install of v8 later today and see how that goes.

Input and output configs. Log files from the crash. Even if you don't see anything, maybe someone will.

Or run V7.5 for the season. Even though V8 works for many purposes, the developers had multiple obstacles to overcome and something might have slipped between the cracks.

Other thing to try if you want to mess around on your own is to use the master branch and get the updates from there instead of v8. This is a little process but not hard.

Sorry to revive this older post but I wanted to follow up, as it's been some time now.  v8.3 has worked perfectly for me through Thanksgiving and so far Xmas.  My issue must've been part of some of the crash fixes since the 8.0 release I had tried (7.5 ran great through Halloween).  Many thanks for the hard work that goes into this project, it's really helped to free me from all the custom coding I had to do, and just has made my lightshow setup so much easier to maintain.

Time to donate!
