Lights all messed up

I tried the pi on my lights yesterday and all the channels appeared to be messed up. Just prior to trying the pi I had run both HLS and Xlights on the lights with my sequences. Both worked flawlessly. The Xlights sequences were converted from the HLS sequences. The Pi sequences were converted HLS sequences using Xlights. The files were converted around a week ago on HLS 15. something (can't remember what version I was at). I really would like to use the pi to run the show, but also have HLS and Xlights as back up.
I am using 2 x e6804's to run the show.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To double check to make sure it wasn't a problem during the HLS -> FPP conversion, and if you say the xLights sequence works correctly, then I'd try converting from xLights .xseq to FPP's .fseq and see if that works correctly.

All your start addresses are the same? That should not be. Look at your Xlights setup, the start addresses there are different.

I'm having the very same issue. Only mines LOR sequences being converted to Fseq(FPP). They play fine in LOR and xLights but once converted my pixel tree, the last few universes, are off. My tree does the right effects but the color is incorrect? Blue instead of red, etc... I'd hate to scrap the idea of running it on the Pi. It runs very smooth other then that.

I think what David is trying to tell you is that your Universe Setup should look more like this.  I did this based on the length of channels you had in each Universe.

Edit:   oops Obviously Universe 1 should be active as well but the difference is that the start channel should increment the number of channels in the previous Universe.... If Universe 1 ends at 510 then Universe 2 must start at 511.... And so on.

Robo. What does your setup look like? Are you using the E131 output to drive controllers. Post a screen shot of your working Xlights hardware setup and your PI E131 universe setup. Where in the channel count do the colors shift? when you say everything is running smoothly do you mean in Xlights or in the PI but the colors are shifted starting at some channel? The more information the better.

Glaringly obvious. Thanks for showing me the error of my ways. I had set up the universes originally and then had trouble with updating. I reinstalled the OS and thought I had reset universes correctly, but I hadn't. Thank you for all your help. I have packed all the lights away so will test again next weekend.

Thanks David for getting back to me. Basically I'm running 8 universes by E1.31.
universe 1  128 channels of Renard
universe 2  48 channels of dumb Rgb wall washers
universe 3  20  channels of Renard
Problem starts here color is off  but effects are correct...
universe 4  510  channels of rgb e682
universe 5 510  channels of rgb e682
universe 6  510  channels of rgb e682
universe 7  510 channels of rgb e682
universe 8  360  channels of rgb e682

My FPP is set-up as the following:
Universe             start           size       Mulitcast on all
1                        1               128
2                        129            48
3                        178            20
Problem starts
4                        198            510
5                        708            510
6                        1218          510
7                        1728          510
8                        2238          360

Just a thought - have you set the "Color Order" on your E682? If your color problems start at your e682, it sounds like you need to set it to correspond with your pixels. I had to change mine on my e6804. One set of pixels from Ray Wu are RBG and the rest are GBR. Check your color order settings in E682.

Looks to me like your math is off by one.  Universe 3 Should start at 177   (128+48= 176)  That would definitely cause a color shift.

Edit: I always post too soon.... Of course that would mean that all the universes after 3 would be off by one as well.  Not sure if that was obvious.

thanks so much  it didn't solve the problem at first.  I saved and try it but it show the same results.  I disconnect the power reboot it up and everything worked a hundred percent.  thanks again for your help! Rob

No Problem - Also (and I just learned this recently from a mistake I made at one of our Austin Meet-ups)  If you change any Universe Settings you need to restart the FPPD service,  The button to do that is on the status page.  But a restart obviously will do the trick.....it's just not required.
