Exactly @darylc .

But when I write something to any of these overlays (both from Matrix Tools or through the API, checking all combos of active / transparent for both the submodel and parent), nothing goes out through Art-net

With just one Art-Net output and one overlay with matching ports, the data is sent correctly to Art-net, but sadly my panel is not one giant one... it's made of several smaller pieces.

Quote from: AAH on February 25, 2025, 02:40:24 PMI don't know how you are generating your sequences but I don't think the virtual matrix is where you want the channels defined. I think what you really need to do is define the channels in the E1.31 tab and output them from there. The virtual matrix is an output to the HDMI and isn't actually going to go out to the F16.
He is not using HDMI @AAH

The Virtual Matrix outputs he has configured are to output on portions of pixel model overlays.

Help needed!

I started a project a while back, and for prototyping purposes, I've been using P4 panels mounted directly to Raspberry Pis (via Adafruit RGB Bonnet or Hanson rPI-MFC, e.g.)

Now I need to build to the final design:
 - FPP (still on a RPi) will act as a sequencer only
 - the data should be sent to a Falcon F16 controller (over Art-Net)

While some effects are recorded fseq's, a lot of my "sequences" is script-generated in real-time via python scripts and displayed via FPP API calls.

Here's what (part of) my setup looks like:

I tried sooo many things, I'm starting to pull my hair out.

I feel like this is a classic setup for a big matrix or megatree but can't figure out how to set up FPP for my need. 😢

Any pointers or similar config to share ?
🥺🙏

Update:

Problem solved with support@pixelcontroller.com !

This can happen when the board doesn't receive all the universes that have been declared (which was the case in my setup, where the last universe is not always being used).
In particular the first and last universe are critical

Also worth noting: Falcon Support replied within the hour on a Sunday. Kudos!

I have FPP set up to play movies on an LED matrix that uses wled.  Everything works great.  I uploaded some new movies onto FPP via SSH and they all play just fine except one.  I cropped them all the same using the same software, converted them the same, everything.  The only difference I see is when I go to video info on the movie that won't play it says "
"profile": "Constrained Baseline",

and on the ones that will play it says
"profile": "main",

I've tried reuploading the file both through the website and shh as well as recropping it, converting it, everything but it doesn't make a difference.

Thanks for your replies.
I will contact support, then.

Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything first.

@algerdes : indeed 5050 WS2811 "flexible" panels (this a prototype for an upcoming larger build... THEN it'll be 12mm bullet strands)

I agree with darylc in that you should contact support@pixelcontroller.com.

For my own curiosity - are these panels or a very tight matrix?  It appears to me to be panels with 50/50 pixels.

F16v5 Pixel Controller / Tearing / timing issue with fi...

I have an problem with my F16V5, that I initially thought was some kind of tearing but might actually be a code/firmware issue.

The first received universe seemed to be displaying ahead of the rest.
Attached are two slow-mo videos that highlight the issue: they show a clear problem around... channel 510 !

Setup:
- F16v5
- WS2811 matrices (some 16x16, 8x8, and 8x32)
- protocol is Art-Net over a direct ethernet cable
- universe size: 512 (sent from MadMapper)
- I have no more than between 320 and 512 pixels / port

Setting or removing protocol synchronization doesn't change anything.
I also tried moving things around (using different ports, swapping matrices around, changing channel numbers, adjusted the new but so far undocumented transform and transmit lags and bank speed adjustment), but none worked.

My temporary diagnosis : the F16 is struggling at exactly channel 510 of the first universe it receives (and works seamlessly from there on, i.e. over 20 universes in my current config)

I have found a hack that I'm using for now :
- on the F16V5, start universe numbering at 2
- set up a single pixel fixture in MadMapper (or your software of choice), assigned to Channel 1 of Universe 1

Did I miss something ? Or is it indeed a hardware / firmware bug ?
