The plan is to use Qlab to trigger and select playlist in FPP over a network (not wifi).

I can use xshedule to receive the Qlab commands and that does the trick.  However I'd like to find a way to remove xshedule from the system. For direct control.

I  cannot seem to find any information on how to do this. Any information or I'd you could point me in the right direction?

Many thanks

You need to install either the fpp-MIDI or fpp-OSC plugin from the Plugin Manger.   In your case, OSC is likely the better option.

Once installed, a new open will appear on the Content Setup menu to configure the OSC events.   In there, you can map OSC events to FPP Commands.    DEFINITELY hit the F1 button on that page and read the help.   There are some relatively advanced ways to map OSC parameters into parameters for the commands.

By any chance did you get this working?

I have been struggling for days to get Q lab to send the proper OSC message to FPPOSC plug-in to get it to run correctly it generally just crashes my pie over and over again

So just in case anyone else finds this post later on down the road, this is completely doable and super useful.

Q lab can create script cues which use Apple based Scripts, Which can then trigger the FPP directly to the API rest.

You will have to establish a token between yourself and the pie to bypass the password function of the FPP, which, of course cannot be disabled, but once this is completed a simple script, Q will allow you to trigger a playlist and have it start playing.

I work for a small theater in Louisiana, and we are integrating LEDs into one of our sets and this is exactly how we plan to use them by putting them into our Q lab, master workflow and having Q lab simply trigger them to sync, music lights, and movement.

ChatGPT actually walked me through how to establish the token between my pie and the Mac terminal, and of course, all of this has to be on the same network, sub mask, etc.

But this is completely achievable, and you don't even have to go with the open sound control, module, or the midi module.

Hope this helps...

I understand this is an old post, but was wondering if anyone has any ideas how to get QLab and FPP to keep in perfect sync.

My goal is to have QLab playing the music, then FPP to play the LED sequences that need to be in sync. I'v been trying for weeks to get this working but not had any joy. I'm using the SMPTE plugin that supposedly receives timecode but not able to get this working.

QLab is sending out a timecode cue over LTC, a 3.5mm audio cable from a MacBook Pro (headphone out) to a Raspberry Pi (line-in) using a USB sound card on the Pi. I've also setup a playlist in FPP that should trigger when the correct timecode is met but isn't working.

FPP version 9.3
QLab 5.5.8
macOS 26.1

Any help would be much appreciated.
