WARDEN82

Or a fat kid with a lifetime supply of twinkies....or a dung beetle at a dairy farm....I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.

I am seriously that geeked out about FINALLY getting to have the ability to Griswold a house!

Recently got a new abode....from living in a Townhome with a dictatorship for an association and NO decorations outside rules.

As typical...first year is budget tight and live with an allowance type year.

So i was only able to get your typical home hardware store lights...but I made them count!

Basic 1st year adventure

Lets just say the household was VERY pleased with my selection of limitations.

Is it your typical fancy lights shows with pixels and music...nope. But it was the star of the show in the small neighborhood.

With the success of this year and permission granted to start piecing together a full on light show display for 2021 - I believe i have done some decent planning thus far.

I have started measuring exact lengths of the areas I want to outline with pixels.  Which is roughly the same outline as you see in the video...but more areas added.

My thoughts were to get the measurements down to actual inches from point A to point B so as to make a decision on pixel spacing so I know how many strings are going to be needed and the count of total pixels - be it 5v vs 12v - which this would give me a better idea of where to place power injection points and controllers or smart receivers...etc

OCDish...maybe. But I have 1 light on the top left part of the upper ridge line, well the string going up to the top most ridge line, that has decided to do its own color dance and it makes my eye twitch - like Scrat from IceAge the movie....but you cant see it on this video.

A neighbor also noticed it and pointed it out.  I wanted to Judo chop him and hide him in the bushes so he wouldnt tell anyone else.  :o 8)

Anyway....enough geeking out on this year...next year is going to be so exciting!

Outlines with music is on the todo for 2021. MIGHT throw in some props for Halloween and Xmas - but thats TBD

If COVID19 doesn't kill off the world population by 2022 and Xmas comes around - I might expand this to include my neighbors house across the street. They cool peeps. They pay for it of course - but I can do the grunt work. Sooo many options come up with that plan.

Seriously revved for this!

Hope to talk to you guys soon!

Never order the exact amount of pixels.  It never works out.  Order extras because
1. subsequent orders that are not from the same batch may have color differences.  It happens even if your order from the same vendor in subsequent years.
2. If you need to replace a string or just a pixel or two best to have some from the same batch
3. You will eventually need more pixels for a prop or some other expansion or just to try something out.

Estimate your pigtail needs, then double it and add another 25%.  They are cheap individually, but shipping will kill you if you only need a couple more in the future,  And you will need more.

Thank you. I have that jotted down now for "required" on the itemized list for the "boss" to look over
