MultiSync copying of Show Files not working in FPP 6.1.1, but still works for me in FPP 5.5  is this a issue with 6.1.1 of Me?

Did you enable rsync?

hmmmm...again having same issue but rsync is enabled.  Could 6.2 influence a problem?  It worked after you coached me to enable rsynd, and that was 6.1.1

Update: I have a couple where the copy works....feel these were full image loads to 6.2  and may be the fppos upgrades that are not working....may be an issue with fppos.

Update2:  Same err displayed as I posted in Post #1 pre-enable rsync.

I have ran into this after every upgrade.  If you have them enabled and you upgrade.  The upgrade doesn't enable them even though it's check marked under system tab.  You have to go back into the system tab and disable them and reenable them again.  It's a pain in the butt remembering to do this on every upgrade.

Just a reminder that this is NOT a recommended way to get sequences to the remotes.   This does not result in the remotes getting the sparse/optimized sequences with just the data they need.   They each get everything.   As shows are getting larger and channel counts sky rocketing, you will likely start hitting limits of the SD card transfer rates, CPU usage will be higher, etc....   Using FPP connect in xLights is a much better option.

Dan, for those of us that use Vixen, we don't have the premium features of xLights as you mentioned.  My work-around is to have a spare benchtop FPP.  Load only the files I want transferred......most all ae manually built sparse.

Too old to change to xLights now

jnealand

Never to old to change, especially when it makes things easier in the long haul.  I didn't start doing animated lighting until I retired 18 years ago.  Now I'm 80 and running a Christmas show that started tonight.  But the physical aspects certainly don't get any easier.  For that I have a grandson who gets on the roof and does any tall ladder stuff.

Never give up or quit learning, it keeps you alive.

jnealand, I'm days from 74 and still ladder to the roof and install.  Son says he is afraid of heights and available grandson is too young. learning....I never want to stop learning, I do woodcraft, metalworking, pottery, electronics, electrical power, Christmas lights and more.  So Vixen as second nature to me, I just don't see the value to add in xLights. and the learning curve may take away too much football watching time.  Go xLights and yea for Vixen.

jnealand

@Sawdust I only know enough about xlights to be dangerous.  I started with LOR, moved to Vixen, finally understood LSP, tried Nutcracker with Vixen, and eventually came to realize that I have no artistic or musical genes.  Now I just buy sequences or download the shared ones.  I have learned to be a fairly efficient mapper and with the damn sequence clubs I have a huge library of sequences to pick from.
