Hi all,

I have a couple of Kulp boards (K8-PB & K4-PB) and I'm looking at some garden spotlights to run all year round, they have two control methods (chips) WS2811 IC (RGB) & UCS2904 (RGBW).

Are the Kulp boards able to control the RGBW component of the lights?

Thanks.

CaptainMurdoch

The hardware and BeagleBone channel outputs in FPP don't care if it is 3-channel RGB or 4-channel RGBW as long as it is WS281x compatible chips.  Most places in FPP work with RGBW, but there are some like the channel test page which are still mainly 3-channel.  I don't know if some or all WLED effects support 4-channel pixels, but your sequencing software should if you create sequences and then play them.

Thanks CaptainMurdoch that makes sense.

I might buy one and just do some testing to see what it can do.

@John_82, did you ever try the Kulp controller with any UCS2904 RGBW pixels. I bought some Pucks that I'm wanting to put along my rooftop and run year round, and use them in my Christmas show. I was trying to get them to work with my DigiUno along with xLights, but can't get the colors right (some have used sk6812, but that's not working right for me).

So, I'm looking to find a controller that works well with UCS2904. Any suggestions?
