Hello,

I'm fairly new to all this stuff, but I've been a Network Engineer for over 20 years and have much experience with Linux. I've also got a lot of time in with Arduino-based hardware - heck, I've even published a library that's gotten some use out there...

This whole home lighting ecosphere is a bit overwhelming, not having much experience with the terminology and X-lights is just PACKED with everything under the sun and very little of it is intuitive.

I was asked by my friends retired father to help him get these boards up and running on his displays and I remember reading somewhere that when you have a pure BBB setup, it's relatively simple to configure things so that one can create their sequences, click a button and away it all goes - running as expected.

The setup is THREE BBB boards, each with a K32A-B distribution board. They connect to the network via Wifi dongles on the USB port.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to set these up in X-Lights so that it's as simple as possible for him to modify his sequences and just push them out to the devices so that they run independently of his workstation.

If anyone knows of any config docs for this hardware with X-lights, or any direct experience with this hardware, I would very much appreciate any input / advice / knowledge you can offer.

Thank you,

Mike

Here is start,  but it is 230 pages long.

After thinking about this.  Post your location, your best source to getting started would be someone who lives reasonably close that could visit you or that you could visit.  A mentor will be the quickest way to get started.

Kennesaw, GA all Falcon controllers, all 12v Master Remote Multisync with Pi and BBB P10 and P5

Get all three controllers installed on the network.
Go to xLights.
Click the Discovery button.
Did it find the controllers? If not, manually configure them.

Create a model.

Go back to controllers and click the controller you want the model on.
Click Visualize and drag the prop from the right to the left on the port(s) you want to use.

That is a start. There is, of course, so much more.
