I ask this on Facebook last night but thought I would post here also. JonD i assume that was you that was helping on Facebook.

F16V3 with one pixel expansion board set to one expansion with serial in xLights.  This is the same controller I used last year for a 12 string tree but without the expansion.

On string 5,6,19,20 which is on port 8,9,23,24 on the Falcon

I used a Falcon tester to verify the pixels worked and they did. I switched out to a complete different pigtail phoenix connector to extension to rule out connections problem did not change.  I have only tested on string 5-6.

I assume I have a setting incorrect somewhere but not sure where to look.  I could change the variant and remove serial since i am using data on port 1-4 for the serial data to my remotes.

A couple pics in the day time one with no data being transmitted and the other a static light program

I think I am an idiot.  Will verify when I get home form work tonight and report back.

How do you connect a Smart Receiver to Ports 1-4?

K-State Fan

Set the serial data output to ports 1,2,3,4.

JonD

The F16v3 would assign ports 1-16 to the main board.   Think the onboard serial ports would be ports 33-36.

I do not have anything hooked up to port 1-4 on the main board and am just copying that to the serial port by selecting 1,2,3,4 for that data.

You have included lots of screen captures of your config, and a couple photos of the actual prop, but you have not told us what the problem is.

And yes, in the F16v3, you can assign the serial output to mirror whatever string ports that you want.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.

In the fist picture all the lights should be off.

In the second picture all the lights should be off.

In the third picture the lights should be red or green.

JonD

I just changed the config on one of my controllers and it added the serial ports to 33-36.  For some reason I was thinking you had to use ports 33-36 for serial.  I used DMX back in day when still using LOR, but it has been a while ago.

Just to be clear, you have a pixel expansion board (local ports to connect pixels)?
AND you are using the serial outputs for connecting to Smart Receivers?

K-State Fan

Correct.

I do not have the smart receivers hooked up yet.

Very similar to how i ran last year just did not have an expansion board hooked up and used port 17,18,19,20 for my smart receivers

JonD

If you added a F16V2/F16V3 Differential Expansion Board w/ribbon cable (Port 4 Long SR) or F16v2/F16V3 Expansion Board with ribbon cable (16 Port Short), they would both be ports 17-32.  Also, make sure the jumper on either expansion board is set to 17-32 instead of 33-48.

Instead of using 17-20 for the serial ports in the past you would want to use 33-36

When you get the first 6 pixels on a string white and the rest various colors, it is typically due to a mismatch in receiver types. And I am not sure you can assign Smart Receivers to pixel ports?

Pretty sure the port numbers are set automatically by the below option and can not be changed.  I am not seeing an option to even change the DMX ports numbers on my controller.  It does seem like you could mirror those ports, but I think that is only when you are using E1.31 and you can duplicate the universe numbers.
