Title: Receiver grounding
Post by: cassiani on March 02, 2019, 07:20:00 PM
I'm trying to decide if I go the F48 route or the Advatek Long Range...and in looking at it, the Advatek talks about isolated and non isolated receivers....one needs electrical grounding back to the controller and one doesn't.  In the absense of an F48 manual, does anyone know if the Falcon Differential receivers require common electrical grounding back to the controller or not? Thanks

The F48 does not require any such grounding between transmit and receiver. It is the same with the "differential" output from many other Falcon and FPP boards.  The signal is sent via two wires having exactly opposite polarity signals, standard RS-485 protocol.
