Falcon Player (FPP) / Re: PCB for connecting an OLED panel to a Raspberry Pi

I purchased this one from AMAZON.

 https://www.amazon.com/UCTRONICS-SSD1306-Self-Luminous-Display-Raspberry/dp/B072Q2X2LL/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=.96+oled&qid=1556108211&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Others will work, look at Dan's BBB post:  https://falconchristmas.com/forum/index.php/topic,10671.0.html.

I also purchased some female to female dupont leads so I could easily connect it to the header pins.

Where are you folks getting the actual display for these?

Kind of a slow time of year on here too.  I am on facebook and haven't noticed much activity there.  Now to be fair I'm not on facebook much anymore either.

It seems that most activity must take place an the Facebook page and not on any of the forums. Forum activity is real sparatic.  Is this a fair statement to make?  If so what about this of us who don't use Facebook?

Can an OLED be used with a PI CAP installed if I can connect to the proper pins?
Yes it can. I've got a board I've called rPi-MFC that I'm still testing and it has both an Oled display and 2811 output.

Would you know if you could do the same with a matrix hat?
It's going to depend on whether it's 1,2 or 3 outputs as the I2C pins are used for the 3 output version. The rPi-MFC I mentioned earlier has both a 2811 output and a P10/P5 output.

Try rebooting and see if that helps.  The GraphicsMagic++ libraries should have been installed as part of the update but maybe that script didn't run.  If a reboot doesn't fix it, can you look at the upgrade_config.log file and see if there are any errors listed?

Thanks! Successfully updated to the Master branch on a different Pi. Everything, including the new functionality, seems to be working fine. Will try again on my Master FPP tomorrow.

F48 Pixel Controller / Re: Multiple receiver ports #3 are dead?!

Thank for this thread.  Yes you nailed the problem.  Was having trouble figuring  it out because of several bad cables.  I changed everything out but the controller.  Took out one bad cable and replaced it with another bad cable.  Where did anyone find how the diff boards worked. Is it in a manual somewhere?
Get yourself an inexpensive cable tester off Amazon. It saves loads of time when diagnosing issues.

Did not know that, thanks! Updated to the Master branch and I can see the changes. Unfortunately, getting compile errors: "make: GraphicsMagick++-config: Command not found", so fppd.o won't build.
