Title: P10 16x32 Panels Possible group buy
Post by: patdelaney on July 21, 2015, 08:19:01 AM
I have been getting a few requests for the vendor I got my P10 panels from. I did not get them from Ray Wu. Last week many of you that attended The Christmas Expo got a first hand look at what we are now able to do with the P10 panels and the Falcon Player with Octoscroller cape.

These seems to be enough interest a possible group buy for the panels. I have no experience with group buys with Ray Wu. So the purpose of this thread is to see if there are enough people that are interested in purchasing the P10 boards and then looking for someone to coordinate / negotiate with Ray. I will be willing to help out as well.

Please let me know.

Pat

You can buy pixel panels in the US from pixelsequencing.com.  He is in Dallas GA.  Even has octoscrollers.  I'm going to get a couple to play with and I can drive there and save on shipping.  Woohoo.

Interesting....didn't realize there was a U.S. domestic resource.

Awesome.  Has anyone compared these to the ones from Ray Wu?  Like if I already have some of Wu's would the ones from pixelsequencing.com be a match to expand an existing matrix?

Do anyone know if there is a waterproof P10 panel available?

I've seen them listed, but have not heard whether they work with the BBB and Octoscroller. They all appear to be made with 3 discrete LEDs instead of a single multicolor one, but that shouldn't be a problem as long as they use the same 8:1 scan rate and Hub75 cabling.

They are only waterproof on the front, so you still need an enclosure for the back.

Thank you for your responses.  May be better for me to build an enclosure around the matrix.

The water proofing is a rubber gasket that goes around the front plastic panel that the led pannel is screwed into.  So yes would have to waterproof the back still.
