has anyone made a "setting up your falcon for dummies" file thats easy to follow.  I find the usermanual jumps all over the place and can be quite confusing when you are delaing with conections, maybe thats why I see so many peole having conection issues.

anyways what I was wondering is can you take the F16v4 power it up for the first time and conect it wirelessly to your home network.

That is a "yes, but" question.  The wifi is not a full fledged wifi due to the hardware used restrictions.  Works nuch better IMHO by pairing it with a Raspberry Pi running FPP and connected to your network.

Not really, the F16 (and any wireless device) needs to have the SSID and password to connect to your network. You can, however, connect wirelessly to the F16 through its hotspot wirelessly and configure it to connect to your home network (page 111 of the manual)
If to err is human, I am more human than most people.

ya I managed to finaly get conected with a direct cable conection and found the wireless set up.  so I am going to try enter my ssd and password on days off and see if I can get on.  I dont want to run a full blown show throught the wireless just want to be able to play around with my 50 pixel test string and learn x lights, fpp and such.
